Long hours of sunshine, altitudes from 1000 to over 2000 metres, plains, valleys, natural terracing and vast areas of forest make of Folgaria one renowned tourist resort in Trentino and one of the oldest communities of the all Trentino.
The community has seven boroughs: Costa, Serrada, Guardia, Mezzomonte, San Sebastiano, Carbonare and Nosellari.

Folgaria offers several activities to the guests both in summer and in winter.

Historical and cultural sights to see
The 17th century parish church, the Austrian- Hungarian military cemetery of World War I, the old town, the nearby Maso Spilzi (18th C) - an ancient rural building, the small church of S. Valentino, the Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Grazie, Guardia - the painted town, Forte Cherle, Forte Sommo Alto, Forte Dosso del Sommo (World War 1914 - 1918).

Passo Coe Botanical Garden, the Echen Biotope, the Hofentol Waterfall and the Geomorphologic Trail of Mezzomonte.

The Lake of Lavarone
The bright beauty of the lake of Lavarone, its evocative natural background and quiet, make this lake a supreme place for relaxing... but also an ideal place for revitalizing bathing!
Both lidos have beaches and deck chairs, pedal boats or boats can be hired.

WINTER PARADISE: 100 km of pure skiing!
Folgaria, Lavarone and Luserna, a top skiing destination in Trentino.
The famous Skitour dei Forti that extends over an area of 100 km ski slopes, suited to all skiing skills, ideal for beginners but also for experts, with guaranteed artificial snow coverage all over the season.
The latest in ski-lift technology will have you up on the slopes in no time. Choose our ‘slow ski’ options and discover legendary pistes (Salizzona, Agonistica, Avez del Prinzipe).
The ski resort is specially tailored to the needs of our younger visitors: six school camps, nursery facilities, baby park and supervised kids’ activities.
Moreover you will find 80 km of Nordic ski-runs, plenty of open space for snowshoe outings and cutting-edge ice skating facilities.


TREKKING: Trekking dei forti
This is one of the most interesting historic-nature routes in south Trentino. Passes the seven Austro-Hungarian fortresses on the Altipiani di Folgaria, Lavarone and Luserna (1915-18 War). Besides the fortresses the Trekking takes you to the Austrian-Hungarian fortresses Dosso del Sommo (Werk Serrada), Sommo alto, Cherle, Lusern, Busa Verle and Cima Vézzena and to the military cemeteries of Folgaria, Costalta and Slaghenaufi, the Monte Rust signals station, the mysterious Emperor’s Ladder and the remains of what was the sector tactics command hewn out of the deep gorge of Virti. It also affords panoramic views of the surrounding mountain chains.

TREKKING: Mezzomonte Geomorphological Trail
In their slow retreat the great Quaternary glaciers have left a deep mark on the Plateau territory: excavating wide valleys, producing terracing and the plateau we know today.
The signs and indications of that work of excavation and modelling are visible nowadays and can be admired on the Folgaria plateau on the guided trail known as the Mezzomonte Geomorphologic Trail: glacial wells of Casom, the Noz moraine deposits and the landslide walls of Rosspach.

On the Altopiano di Folgaria, Lavarone and Luserna there is a wonderful Nordic Walking Park that displays on 104 km with 17 routes, where all services, equipment of the latest generation and instructors are at your disposal.

MOUNTAIN BIKE: 100 km Forti Trail
From Folgaria to Luserna, via Lavarone 100 Km through the remains of the First World War, ideal for lovers of mountain biking, among stupendous panoramas, hidden nature nooks, signs and evidence of the great conflict fought on these peaks bordering Trentino and Veneto.
The trail comprises three circuits forming three rings that can be used independently from each other or in a single itinerary.

MOUNTAIN BIKE: Fortezze Bike Tour
This is a theme itinerary perfect for bikers who love long demanding excursions in natural surroundings.
It is inspired by the evidence of the Great War distributed over the wide territory from Trento to Vallarsa, on what was the Austro-Italian border. The itinerary proposes an interesting ten-stage journey, served by welcoming points for overnight accommodation and meals.

A route among meadows and woods, with the Club House inside the Maso Spilzi, a mysterious 18th century “maso castello”: the Costa di Folgaria Golf Course is a pearl set in a superb natural setting. The technical characteristics of its holes make it extremely interesting: 9 holes, par 72, 5532 meters.

From a height of 1000 to 1800 m, through a series of wide panoramas and exciting landscapes you can enjoy magnificent rides alone or in groups on the Plateau.
You will ride through ancient medieval paths, centuries-old forests, ex military roads leading to what was once the Veneto-Trentino front during the First World War and the first line of Austro-Hungarian fortresses, paths through protected natural areas and explore the High Plateau on horseback.
